What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about super models and the fashion industry? I think of hot bodies, ‘legs for days’, money and unfortunately, I think of an unhealthy life style. You might be thinking But they’re so thin and they post so many pictures of green juices on instagram? To that, I respond Being thin and drinking green juices are not the same thing as being healthy!
Right now it seems like the whole world is juicing their worries away or “cleansing their bodies” in order to be healthy, following juice diets that promise to “make you drop three sizes in one week.”
The desire to lose weight asap is a consequence of the fast paced world we live in today. We open our emails on our phones and all the knowledge we need is only a quick ‘google search’ away. So why can’t losing weight be just as quick and easy?
Losing large amounts of weight fast can have negative consequences on your body. It should not be the ultimate goal. The aim should be to maintain a healthy lifestyle and exercise routine that works for your body. The weight loss is a consequence of a steady routine. Also remember, sometimes you need chocolate, and there’s nothing wrong with that.
Advertisement photos are extremely photoshopped and striving to look like the women you see in magazines are dangerous. Throw away the magazines, put on some “All About That Base” on your phone and let’s cook a super easy and really healthy meal together to kick-start our healthy habits.
Healthy pasta recipe I’m sharing with you guys today is my Zucchini and Pesto Pasta:
First thing you’ll have to do, of course, is boil the pasta and add some salt while it’s cooking. After it’s been on the stove for a few minutes, I like to add the zucchini for a short while just to make them A LITTLE softer. Don’t leave them too long in there, they’ll turn into soup.
Then, you just cut up some onions and garlic and add them into a saucepan with some olive oil (my choice) or butter. They will brown a little and the flavors will come out. Add the zucchini and let it cook for a minute. Once that’s done, add the pasta and let all the flavor mix together for a couple of minutes.
The best part comes now, adding the pesto. You can always make it yourself from scratch (which is actually super easy) or you can be lazy like me and buy it from the store. Add your desired amount.
I also like to slice some cherry tomatoes and mix them with the pasta. It adds some color and taste delicious! Finally, add some cheese. I usually go for Brie cheese but you can always use some good old Parmesan.
