Part 1: How I decided to give pilates a chance.

Joseph Pilates once said about his method: ‘In 10 sessions you will feel the difference, in 20 you will see the difference and in 30 you will have a whole new body’. It sounds too good to be true but I decided to give it a try. After reading this statement, I started to search for a pilates studio near me 4 years ago. But before that, let me tell you something about me. I was never a gym person, I tried it many times but I got bored in a few months all the time. There is a time when a body shouting desperately for help, that time had come for me. I never had weight problems but I couldn’t get out of bed without my back,  hurting me, I was so imbalanced that I couldn’t lift my foot without falling. I suffered many sprains in the past and the orthopedic doctor told me that my sinew was about to cut and suggest me to go to a physiotherapist and do some exercises. Plus that my anxiety levels were very high. I wanted something alternative. A few days later, I found a studio near me and I said to myself: “You have nothing to lose”. My first lesson was a revelation. Until then I never thought that some exercises can rebuilt my whole body and mind. As I understood later, the most important thing when a person starts pilates, is the instructor. Unfortunately a certificate is not enough. He must know the body anatomy, watch your moves and give you the right instructions in order not to injure yourself, but first he has to be experienced and give you the right motives.
